About Me
"The camera is an instrument that teaches people how to see without a camera" - Dorothea Lange
Storytelling is a crucial way to build a brand, whether you're an athlete, an artist, or a business. This is the guiding principle I use for my photos and videos. Not only will storytelling make you more personable, but it will leave a lasting impression on your audience because it helps them remember you. As a Multimedia Specialist at Sky Palm Studios, I constantly develop my storytelling skills by capturing and editing video content to be utilized across multiple social media platforms.
I've worked as a photojournalist for the Independent Florida Alligator, a student-run newspaper in Gainesville. This experience taught me how to compose a shot to summarize an entire story into one photo. A photograph I took from a student-led protest against UF President Ben Sasse was published in the New York Times Magazine, and I've had the opportunity to cover a diverse range of events and people.
I've always been a competitive athlete, so I am most passionate about shooting sports. I've shot almost every D1 sport at UF. As the Social Media Manager for the D1 Florida Gator hockey team, I take photos during their games, create short-form videos, and help build a larger following on our platforms. I've also helped create content for professional track athletes like Noah Lyles and Talitha Diggs. My background in social media management has helped me understand the importance of quickly engaging viewers and telling a story in a short amount of time.
Picking up a camera is more than just a job. I enjoy producing and shooting my own projects centered around athletics or animal welfare. I enjoy furthering my skill set and exploring new ways to shoot: I have my Part 107 drone license and recently learned to shoot with a film camera. I look forward to graduating from UF in December and continuing to grow as a creative.
